PRTG Manual: Define IP Ranges

In some setting fields, you can either enter a host name or single IP address, or you can define IP ranges. PRTG follows a common syntax for this. IP ranges are available, for example, for xFlow and Packet Sniffer sensors, and for probes settings.

Enter a fixed IP address.

Hostname

Enter a hostname. PRTG will resolve it to an IP address in your network.

Hostmask

Enter a hostmask. A hostmask defines the relevant bits of the IP address.

a.b.c.d/h or a.b.c.d/e.f.g.h

10.0.0.0/255

Range

Enter an IP address range. Please replace each of a, b, c, d by either

  • * (asterisk) for any value; corresponds to 0-255
    —or—
  • x-y for any range between 0 and 255.

a.b.c.d

10.0.0.1-20 or 10.*.0.* or 10.0.0-50.*
